Education & Qualification
As a mother of 3 grown women, I believe I have a strong foundation in caring for and nurturing children. I began childcare when I was 10 years old and have been caring for and loving children ever since. I started helping families as a Postpartum Doula in 2000.
I've taken specialized training through DONA (Doulas of North America) and also NAPCS (National Association of Postpartum Care Services) for certification in both of these organizations. This entailed having completed a comprehensive course of study with specific fieldwork, essays and final examination.
As a Certified Doula, I'm required to take continuing education classes to keep my certification current. This enables me to get the most updated information available to the public. I re-certify yearly in adult, child & infant CPR and every 3 years in first aid. I also adhere to the Code of Ethics set up by each of the organizations I belong to.

Bunny's Philosophy
I believe what new families need most is nurturing and gentle support. My goal is to relieve the new mother of day to day responsibilities, so that she is better rested and able to nurture and care for her family. I do this by focusing on the mother's needs and helping both parents to develop confidence in their parenting skills while demonstrating techniques in newborn care and feeding.
I think there are many good ways to care for babies, and I do not enforce my own personal parenting style or insist that you adhere to a specific school of thought with respect to your infant. I trust parents to make decisions for their babies, and will help you get the information you need to make wise choices.
Families with a new baby are particularly vulnerable, and it is always my goal to be helpful in a quiet, pleasant, appropriate and unobtrusive way. I am respectful of the traditions, culture, values and beliefs of each individual family.
